When a longtime client came to Michael Abrams Interiors to help transform the Old Town townhouse he’d just purchased, the design team embraced the challenge. The first order of business was to take the 1980s residence down to the studs, creating a blank canvas to design the client’s dream home: a masculine, carefully collected space perfect for a bachelor who loves to entertain.
The kitchen’s rich wood cabinets and accent wall, showstopping black waterfall quartzite countertop, and stunning terrazzo backsplash lead into a dining area featuring a handsome and inviting custom-built leather banquette, which curves around two walls lined with a gallery of intentionally lit art. The primary bedroom is light but undeniably strong, with its textured wall coverings, alpaca boucle drapery, and new molding details added to create interest. The design team worked within the existing architecture of the home to create a beautiful retreat that appears to glow from within.
Through careful space planning and by using the client’s well-curated life as design inspiration, Michael Abrams Interiors created a space that’s beautiful during the day, but even better after dark and preferably enjoyed with a martini.
