Kansas City
As two of principal designer Michael Abrams’ dearest friends, these Kansas City-based homeowners were looking to tap Michael’s extensive interior expertise to customize their 1920s tudor into a uniquely personalized home. With a desire to maximize masculine influences and tailor the existing space to fit the couple’s streamlined preferences, the MAI team set out to execute a design that emulates the moody, warm energy of a vintage club through eclectic, handsome furnishings, all while paying homage to the architectural significance of the home itself.
To breathe new life into the space, the team not only added tailored finishes and furnishings, but also reimagined the second floor primary bedroom and bathroom suite. Designing what became a lavish bathroom and dressing area, the primary suite offers unexpected, expansive luxury in the heart of a good-natured midwestern city.
The resulting residence encapsulates the owners’ lifestyle: one of comfort and ease, but also of glamour and sophistication.
